Thanks for all the replies! He has a dell oem 400watt psu with a pcie slot on the motherboard. I have a 210gt and a 7600gt but I don't feel that will be a step up for him. He wants to play games like fallout 3 with low settings if that helps.

I'm going to to say 9800GT as well. I put one in my ladies rig. Paired with my old E8500 and it runs everything much better then I expected. TF2 never drops below 60 FPS in all games except 32 man servers.

its the 1GB model was right at $104 about 7 months ago

Just checked looks like they don't have many choices on newegg or microcenter for them... so I guess that puts a dampener on things.

AFOX's HD6850 comes to my mind.
(Some effort must be spent to secure this card though.)
