I am going to go with a audiophile setup for gaming and getting rid of my Steelseries 7H garbage gimmick headset -_- I want a good pair of headphones with good audio and clarity, and I also want a very good microphone with crystal clear voice.. I do not know if I need a amp for the headphones because they are 63ohms, but let me know if I do.

Headphones and Soundcard:

1. I love Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, DubStep, DNB, Trance, Techno etc... Anything that is good.

2. I don't really have a budget. I get $2,150 for my B-Day so I want to cash in on a sweet audiophile setup for gaming.

3. I intend on using them for gaming and music. I love to listen to music on the side but if I had to estimate a ratio percentage of what I would be doing more I would have to say 75% Gaming 25% Music. (A little more towards 80% Gaming.)

I am very disapointed in these cheap gimmick headsets that companies like Razer, Steelseries, Logitech, GameCom etc.. make -_- they are awful and gamers deserve more.

Looks like a great gaming setup to me. Don't really know much about the mic area but headphone/soundcard looks good! You won't really need an amp with the AD700s but might be something to keep in mind if you plan on upgrading in the future.

sounds cards are overkill for those headphones
wont need an amp to drive them at all
$100 for a mic seems a little whack to me but if its what you want go for it

An amp is overkill, but not a soundcard. So much better than onboard.

agreeing that the soundcards you picked are overkill

listen u have already made a great choice in thinking audio technica but if ur gonna use them for gaming do not pass on the ath-a900 they are alot better ive owned these for 4 years and they are suberb, but dont expect music to be ground breaking under 5-600 dollars but for gaming those are the best headphones on the market and have been for a long time check the reviews over at head-fi.org

On a side note if budget is not a problem them then why not get one of the best

ATH-W5000 http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/he...d5/index.html/ u should be able to find them around 600 the earbuds are made from skin off kim kardashians azz very nice
