Sorry for double post but have finally came to a SOLID SOLID conclusion. I am going to pick up the AHD2000s I read a few reviews just a bit ago and they sound amazing so I'll give them a try.

Cans:

1. Would the STX be a good match with these high end bad boys? or is there a better option for a soundcard?

2. And I don't need an amp for these cans either right?

Cans: Amazon.com: Denon AHD2000 High Performance Over-Ear Headphones: Electronics

1. Also would the STX be a good match with these high end bad boys?

2. And I don't need an amp for these cans either right?
Those are really good headphones although I've seen them go for $230 much of the time. If you want, you can wait for Amazon to drop the prices because those prices are relatively cyclic. An amp is not needed but from what I've read, they do scale decently with an amp.

I feel like its going to be worth my cash so I am not worried . Now for a soundcard would be a good pair for these cans.

It will be great. Ohm = resistance. The lower, the easier to drive.

Good choice, that's what I went with in your price range a few years ago
You don't need an amp, I can't really tell any difference amped and unamped. Playing them straight from my Zune I have to turn in up all the way on the bus but that's as loud as I'd ever need them to go. In a home setting with out that background noise you wouldn't ever need them to put out a higher volume. They're deafening at 1/2 volume on my dac/amp

Are you set on an internal sound card?

Receiver like I've said earlier. Again, stereo or AV, it's your choice.

Audio/Video Pros:
-5.0-7.1 support for consumer level
-Music dedicated features (Dolby Digital, Pandora, etc.)
-Video Support
Audio/Video Cons:
-Audio Quality compared to Stereo Receiver
Stereo Pros:
-Better audio quality
-Audio Dedicated
Stereo Cons:
-2.1 maximum support
-No Video Support

It's really stereo for sound and A/V for features.
