How much is a 1090t worth from warranty service?

How much would a 1090t be worth from warranty service? Keep in mind that it goes for $200 currently on newegg. It won't come with the original packaging or manuals or the fan. And most importantly, the warranty is not transferable and since I had to register it in my name, they won't be able to say that they bought it. Please be honest. I can't say what it's for because then that wou;d taint this thread.

When I'm selling second hand parts I always post them up at half current retail, but thats just my general rule of thumb.

The chipsets that come back from a warranty replacement are reconditioned/refurbished units aren't they? (Much like if you replace an iPhone they give you a refurbished one) Plus, no warranty will put people off and you won't be able to sell it as new due to the lack of packaging etc.

Sounds like alot of hassle if your doing what im guessing and getting it replaced in order to get a few extra $$ from selling it as a new chip.

Well the reality is that I am not trying to sell it. I am trying to find out what it would be worth if I were to sell it. I can't say why because if I can get maybe one or 2 more responses, I will print this thread and use it. At that point I will say why I need to know what the reason I need to know is.

Theres a guy on Ebay selling one for 179 with the box, so i'de assume about half retail like Fakirr said due to lack of packaging and documents included.

Edit: nevermind its an open box item.

To be honest, look up the retail price, which you did ($200) and shave off from it for not having the retail packaging. I'd safely say $120 to $140 is a reasonable price. What you get back from the RMA is probably "as new" as I doubt they'd be able to fix something that goes wrong inside. As a result, $120 to $140 is alright in my view.

I did this with a graphics card of mine. BFG offered a lifetime warranty service on a GeForce 8800GTS I used to have. Mine died so they replaced it with a GeForce 8800GTX (slightly better). Upon receipt, I had already bought myself a Radeon 4870 so without opening the packaging the RMA came with (it was just a sealed anti-static bag), I put it up on eBay. It retailed for about £120 at the time but I very quickly (within two hours) sold it for £80 because it was honestly advertised as "new" from an RMA, unopened after receipt.
