Antec TruePower Quattro 850W Sleeving

Ok....My project (first time sleever) is to do a Black and Light blue Theme. 3/4 Black 1/4 Blue. I WILL be using MDPC-X sleeving and i will be sleeving my cables individually and also doing SATA cables and Fan cables.

I have already installed my PSU, and for the sake of measuring how much i need i dont want to uninstall it, and re-install it, then uninstall it again to sleeve it lol . I understand there is a sleeving thread but i hoped to get a more accurate answer this way!

I have an Antec trupower Quattro 850W PSU - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...oducts_id=5434

I have used All the plugs for the extra Cables. 2 GPU's, 2 HDD's, i have 6 Fans installed.

If it is at all possible. Can someone with a similar system/setup please let me know how much sleeving to purchase. I dont wanna waste my money on Extra sleeving if its going to be unused, and i DEFINATLY dont wanna order twice.

Cheers

How long is each wire? I think generally it's add up the total length in each size and then add 10-20% for mistakes/re-do's etc. Heatshrink, 3/4" pieces are fairly normal, but it's personal preference. Again I'd add a few % to cover mistakes. You don't want to have to get it right the first time. And a bit left over isn't bad, then you can do future fans etc to match.

The question i was asking was if someone that has sleeved a similiar system can let me know how much sleeving they ordered..... i dont want to have to pull EVERYTHING out just to measure it and put it all back in, then take it all out again to sleeve it once it gets here...

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I'd measure your system before you spend $$$ on sleeving

Edit: You can probably find the cable length on the web if you don't want to measure.

Is that just a note to yourself or are you looking for diameters/amounts? I put how I'd estimate a few posts ago, and I'd look for 3/4" of heatshrink on each end of each wire. Are you planning to do all cables or just the ones you're using?

Not nearly as busy as mine NOTE, i used about 40' of sleeving, and i did 2 wires per sleeve...

Posted from (my current) an older build thats going to be redone this year, including ALL wires individually sleeved. I think i calced it out to 250' of 1/8" sleeving, for the PSU, without shortening the wires (which the next build will have).

Onto the carnage pics...

A couple 3 pin Y-cables for fans. To sleeve these just take a small phillips and push down on each pin enough to loosen it, then pull out of the header.

Taking the sleeving off of the psu cables...

Couple random shots of the interior, testing out the new settings on the camera. Nice heat sinks in this thing too. Antec Tru-Power Quattro 850

I'm going to be doing 2-3 wires per sleeve instead of 1:1 like some people do. These 4 are for the PFC mobo cable.

Couldn't wait to get my PSU pin kit (came today 9-23-09) so i was searching for alternative ways to remove them...
Found a couple straight pins worked pretty good. First 3 pins came out fine, 4th one took about 30mins on/off working

One finished EPS 12V cable.....

Ok so, most people don't know that a 20/24 pin PSU plug is really only 19/23 nowadays. The white wire was removed, most people only speculate as to why. Well i had an older Compaq iPaq desktop PSU that i use to prime my water loop and test fans etc. It had a white pin. So, to keep everything even, i pulled that pin out and then used it to balance out the sleeving. It isn't connected to anything but the mobo plug, but at least i now have 12 even sleeves. To quote someone at XS "its all in the details'. All in all, its a tad less than 40' of 1/4" sleeving...

Some sleeve porn...
