Hey,

I've herd a lot of people say don't used coloured coolant because they dye clog's the system.

Does anyone no if this is okay to use with the KIT: EK Ekoolant UV Blue 100ml

Also because it's only 100ML do i have to mix with water?

Sorry for the nub questions but this is my first loop.

Thanks.

I have ordered white tubing so i don't need the coloured coolant, but i thought i had to use it because of additives etc in it?

Can i use just water then?

You can buy silver kill coils from a lot of places. Sidewinder computers and Frozencpu carry them. The coil is used because it allows fluid to pass through it and you can insert it directly in a tube without worrying about it restricting flow all that much....

I suppose, but distilled water and ptnuke/silver killcoil will work better. From all of the threads I ever read here (as well as reviews and such) dye just stains your blocks and can gunk/clog pumps and blocks, so it's not advised. It's not just the tubing you have to worry about.

I tried the EK dye w/my first build. I noticed my temps went up about 2C after a week...but didn't think too much of it (the ambient had risen a tad as well). I added my second Vid card block and decided to replace my clear tubing w/UV reactive blue. I looked into the fittings on the CPU block and saw tiny strands of blue gunk. I pulled apart the block and at least six of the channels were 100% blocked...plus it looked gross. I think the dye, along w/putting too much bacterial agent in my reservoir, did the trick. Now it's just a silver coil, a drop of anti-bacterial solution, and blue tubing and no gunk and steady temps.
