Beware the Strike panel! I was originally going with one for my Tiamat build, but after THREE, yes THREE RMAs I finally ditched that sucker. The connections in the back for the fans and temp probes are held in place (made not to wiggle) by some hot glue, which simply flaked off making the connections vulnerable to flex. Once they flex, they break. First one, lost all power to it. Second one, 2 fan connections failed. Third one, lost all power again. This thing is VERY POORLY PUT TOGETHER - BUYER BEWARE! I really, really wanted this to work (hence the 2 RMAs before the return), but it just wasn't to be. Your experience may be better, but after three poorly built units I am assuming they are all garbage.

Tks for the report thumb.gif
Yeah you can def say that if after 3 RMAs still it had problems!

Aaaand here we go again!
Some time has passed since I last touched my rig, I must say that I'm very happy with it! It's a very reliable machine, I paid premium for it but don't regret it, the choice of each single component has been well thought and contributed to build a solid gaming/overclocking machine.
I've been able to play every game at full details and brought my CPU freq up to 4.8GHz with no hassle at all but I'm now ready to go the extra mile: watercooling!

I want to be able to overclock the CPU even further while keeping lower temperatures, and push a bit the GPU over its limits without risks. GTX580 is one hot baby, so OCing on air is out of question.

This is what I plan to buy for my loop:

You don't see a resevoir, that's because I just bought a wonderful Blue FrozenQ Liquid Fusion resevoir! At the beginning I felt like making a Black/Red color scheme, but I sooo fell in love with the BluISH Resevoir that I think I will go for a Black/Grey/Blue one. The Motherboard has some red spots but oh well. I'll have to change its name as well bulb.gif

What are your impressions on this equipment? Would you swap anything?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate all your comments!

PS: Forgot to add the silver coil in the attachment, but that will be included of course!

Yes, boxes are awesome, they cheer you up after a boring day at work smile.gif

Darn I had to stop my build cause I was missing a Torx T6 screwdriver to disassemble my GTX580. No one ever said I needed one! frown.gif
Gonna buy it today!

After what seemed to be an eternity EK sent me a fixed top acetal for my GPU block. The threads in the one that came from FrozenCPU were too loose so I contacted the support.

It took just a few minutes to replace it, connect the last tubes and... leak testing!!!
It's running for 2 hours now with no leaks, I really hope it will pass this night! *fingers crossed*

Just an anticipation shot of what you will see soon... don't wanna show you too much yet, keeping the hype! biggrin.gif
nocturnal_47.jpg

EDIT: Night went by with no leaks biggrin.gif Off to my working day and then we start benching!

Ouch, I believe someone cursed me, probably my ex-gf =(

I broken a socket pin and ASUS said they won't do anything to help me out. I'll need to buy a new one and hopefully put this one up for sale. Real bummer sadsmiley.gif
