How much Juice do your folding rig(s) use?

I did not see one like this so I thought I would start one. My sig and my dedicated rig [E5700+ GTS 450 (all OC'd)] use 670 watts at full load. This is at the wall so given the efficiencies I know its actually less.

150-200W I reckon.

I am assuming you have a dedicated rig. Because your sig is not capable of draw that little power under load. LOL

previous dedicated folding rig:
x6 1090t 4.3ghz 1.53v 31k ppd (windows) = ~210w idle ~360w load

new:
i5 2500k 5ghz 1.45v 44k ppd (linux) = ~100w idle, ~220w load

actually it's probably his sig rig, sandy bridge is just that efficient

How do you get 44k ppd out of a 2500k. My 2600k wont even do that.

You overclock it and run the Bigadv with the native linux client in a vm. or in his case booted into linux. Wine = suck.

Im at 42K ppd right now, OC is @ 4.85 Ghz due to summer heat

you get that much of an increase running it inside a vm/natively running linux ?

I was going to wait for bull-dozer to build a dedicated folding rig, but now im about to just run out the door to microcenter and grab a 2500k

My APC UPS that my sig rig is connected to shows 260W at full load running -bigadv and the gpu client. If I turn off the gpu client I'm around 190W and 48k ppd on -bigadv at 4.6ghz.

yup i was surprised how big the improvement was... ~10k+ ppd boost switching to native linux client... your 2600k could be doing 60k+ ppd at ~5ghz if using native linux.. combined with the low power consumption makes sandy bridge f@h king right now in terms of efficiency/ppd per watt

since bulldozer is also 95w tdp, power consumption should be similar but im assuming bd will put out even more ppd
