New case for my Setup!

Thread Starter
Hi Folks! Im new here and I hope you guys can hel pme! So, heres the thing: Ive had this PC for almost an year and now that i got back from the States I bought some new parts to upgrade. How it is right now:

MB Asus M4A785TD-V EVO w/ last oficial bios
CPU Phenom II X2 550BE > I know its unlockable, but its on the retail HS, so i dont wanna push it until i get a better one.
MEM 12gb 9-9-9-24 1.65V @ DC
Power Supply XFX 650W XXX Edition
HIS HD6950
2x500GB WD Caviar Blue

So I need a new case and a new HS for the CPU that could hold an unlocked 550 @ +/-3.6~3.8 GHZ and good temps. So I was thinking on going w/ the combo HAF912 + V6GT! What do you guys think? Anything cheaper/better?
ps: i cant go with WC and i dont care about the looks of the case. I just want a good one that has a good airflow.

Thansks in advance.

Welcome to OCN! If you're buying a case, just get anything that looks good to you, and has good airflow. For a heatsink, I like the corsair H70 or H50. They give you good tempatures for something that isn't a real watercooling loop, and what I really like about them, is that they're very small, and give you lots of room to work with stuff in your case, compared to if you had a big heatsink. If you can find a good combo deal though, I would do that.

Just look around. I personally recommend a HAF series case or some NZXT, like the Phantom or Tempest EVO cases. Remember, your taste it also important.

Air cooling-wise, I don't recommend the H70 nor H50. Try for a Scythe MUGEN2, Hyper 212+, or something along those lines.

Agree^ Hyper212 or Mugen2 will give you a lot for your money(not saying V6 is bad, you can also consider a tt frio). Cheap case pretty much your pick Haf212 or maybe a CM690II A ? Tempest Evo seems nice also. Imo any of those will do, just pick the one you like

Here's my 690 II Advanced with a Hyper 212 + for a setup possibility view:

I have a vote for the CM690IIAD. Its pure sex of computer case's nice and clean looks, cooling is great! as for cooler I recomend staying away form hybrid water cooler's, air cooling can get just as good if not better than
H50/70. Im sporting a CM Hyper 212+ with 2 fans in push pull on my sig rig and it works ok, but it isnt going to hold up to my oc over the summer, so I'm droping the money on a silver arrow my 2 cents good luck
