Do you know how to tell the package manager to ignore gpg keys? That might help but I'm not sure what packagemanager Sabayon is using. I couldn't get the last version I tried of it to even install.

no I do not know how to tell the package manager to ignore gpg keys

I'm sorry you'd have to wait for one of the Gentoo guys (evermooingcow I think) to help because I know nothing about Portage and this sounds like a common problem for Sabayon right now.

Don't even TRY to do this.

The GPG digital signatures are there for your protection. If they fail to validate, then either the signature or the package is incorrect. This could just be some sort of release engineering problem, or it could be that the distribution system has been compromised by an attacker who is trying to push malware to your system. This has occurred in the past. (Example)

looks like the mirror you are trying to update from has spazzed out, have you tried switching mirrors?

The GPG digital signatures are there for your protection. If they fail to validate, then either the signature or the package is incorrect. This could just be some sort of release engineering problem, or it could be that the distribution system has been compromised by an attacker who is trying to push malware to your system. This has occurred in the past. (Example)

Sorry. I hope that I made it clear I wasn't the one to offer help on this issue (I said wait for the Gentoo guys).

My thing with the gpg key was from my experience with zypper in MeeGo which will not allow you to install certain things (skype iirc). That's what I the only time I had something similar in an error output. But I'm thinking it might have to due with Portage being out of whack for the OP. He might want to look into using emerge to update Portage (I think that's what they recommended).

from what i understand of it, the goal of sabyon is to be a binary release of gentoo, i could be wrong.

i know you can screw up sabyon if you try "porting" in, the current portage tree from getoo (did that once in a vmware lol.)

entropy is the main package manager for sabyon, he should use that to do all his updates from, looking at his error again, it honestly looks like a bad mirror(s) that he chose or was chosen for him when he went to update, as the first mirror time out with a file not found and the second mirror either had the wrong package or it was corrupted when it downloaded or didn't have the right gpg key made into the package.

so again my suggestion would be to try switching mirrors, or wait a few (hours) to let the "update" propagate correctly out to the mirrors (even if they update the main repo's, can take 24 to 48 hours to propagate to the mirrors.)

Sure, if you have a third party package that you know is unsigned, and you're reasonably sure you have a correct copy of it, you can override the digital signature check. But anything provided through the distribution's update channel should have a proper signature, or if it doesn't, you don't trust it.
