Screwed up and ordered an under powered PSU - how many amps on 12V do I really need?

My system is below and both the CPU and GTX 470 are heavily overclock. Recently with my Azza PSU it started emitting a high pitched noise, followed by a low buzzing noise and also will shut off on me now if I overclock the GTX 470, or even randomly when it isnt.

In a hurry I tried to find a deal on a cheaper PSU and didnt really look at the specs too much other than it was 700W and had the necessary connectors.

After reading a little bit after I ordered, I found that my video card needs around 18amp on the 12V to safely power it ok? And since Im overclocking it pretty heavily its probably going to need more than that. Come to find out this one only has 14amps so I dont want to bother installing it when it arrives.

Whats a good, not terribly expensive PSU I should be looking at considering my system? In addition to the below I have 4 hdds- 1 SSD, 2 SATA and 1 external USB along with about 6 case fans and a sound card with a front connector that requires a separate PSU rail to power it.

You need to return that Apevia piece of junk ASAP. Better yet, cancel the order if you still can. Apevia is ALWAYS bad.
And a good 500-550W would be fine for your system.

Your planned system could run on a quality 450W.

Unfortunately, the one your ordered is a piece of crap and I have doubts it can provide more than 400W of clean power, if that. Also I like how they fraudulently claim UL certification without providing a UL reference number.

The current rating of the +12V rail (+12V amps) is not a major concern, other than for gauging the real wattage of the power supply, and even then you need to go by the total rated capacity, not the individual rail ratings (which are usually just the overcurrent protection set points, minus a couple amps).

Does. New egg still have those xfxs for 50bux? those were probably about the best price/performance ratio around.

Hmmm looks like it's $65 now after rebate, which is still a good deal and enough to power your system even if you went sli.

Thanks for all the info everyone

I did check that XFX from newegg but the reviews have me a little worried. A lot of people getting DOA PSUs or emitting high pitches noises
