The 970 is a six-core with hyperthreading, the 2600 is a quad-core with hyperthreading that's a more efficient processor. The 970 will be faster for rendering and folding, the 2600k for gaming.

If you're just gaming, skip the 2600k and get the 2500k.

I was setting up my loop, there was no leak so I connected everything, as I did that and turned the pc on to do the process for indigo extreme there was a surge taking out the mobo and cpu. Since I wasn't in my room where I had my backup battery there was no protection.

Luckily it didn't take out my 6970's

Hmm one of my goals for my pc was to fold whenever I wasn't gaming, would the 2500k be more than enough? Or should I just fold with my two 6970's?
