not to mension much better pciex lanes... X8/x8 on sb is bad for such a new chipset.

All i have to do is buy bd and drop it straight into my existing am3 motherboard = mega cheap upgrade

and if bd is faster then sb then even better for me :d
ivy bridge will also work with p67 motherboards with a bios flash!!! Geez

Just in case they come back, I figured I'd show how "bad" the x8 lanes are on SB.

Here myself and brettjv (great guy, great help) ran our 470's at the same clocks, with the same drivers. I had a slight advantage on ram which I only noticed later, thats why I'm slightly faster, but the point still remains SB x8 x8 is just as capable of AM3 x16 x16 or 1366 x16 x16, there is NO difference (because SB has PCIE 3.0 bandwidth).

Balla,

No need to bother anymore. It is very clear that they totally ignore the facts and come with childish arguments to support their bulldozer. The guy clearly said he has no mobo so to upgrade to bulldozer he needed to buy a new mobo. He showed the 15 dollar difference between the AMD and SB way (the latter gives him access to IVY bridge which will be newer and better than Bulldozer) yet he ignores it and is Mr. Obvious!

Oh balla is here where's dimaggio let's make this a party

I gave up explaining my reasons for going with a sandy but I guess information eludes this person. I wasn't going to get the same crappy cpu and sit and twiddle my thumbs hoping amd supplies a game changing cpu.

Thank you Wish for pointing it out

I did enough research to know that the $15 difference is worth the major step in the right direction even with BD on the horizon it is not guaranteed to even be this super amazing cpu at such an amazing price either.

As it stands SB is still the best price/performance until BD can prove otherwise.

Even at that when i did have the 1090t and saw how SB blew it out of the water i never thought of upgrading, because well my PC was perfectly fine even though it wasnt performing at the max like i would have hoped so with my old 5870's.

Only reason i went with Sandy Bridge now is because of the substantial performance gain for basically the same price.

Right here bud.

Why does everone think this is so cool:Bulldozer

I gotta say anybody who says o your mother board is fried? Wait for bulldozer.
Has gotta be a nutjob. Why should he wait theres a nice new sandy waiting in a box for him.lol

I really hope bulldozer does well cause AMD is letting people down. However, when it comes out and it is the exact same performance as a current sandy or does worse I am going to PM every AMD fanboy whoever told people to wait bulldozer is gonna be awesome dude.

There will be no further upgrade for socket AM3, 155 though will be around for at least another set of CPUs. SO how is it not logical to go with that?

I forgot fanaticism does not like logic...my bad.

OP ejoy that killer quad core and lets see some OC numbers!

EDIT: If you think x16 x16 is so faster than x8 x8 than you need to go read some books.
