We're talking about an everyday joes PC that they have in their living room and slapping a $50 GPU into it, not a system where everything else will make up for where the GPU lacks.
All that really testing with that high of a processor means that there is no CPU bottleneck, you are seeing just how hard that GPU will truly work.

An amazing CPU does nothing if the GPU cant keep up, just like a GPU cant do anything if the CPU cant keep up.

regardless, i proved that you can get one cheap enough.

Well that would depend on how much the game depends on the GPU or CPU, and how the developer optimises the game to use both toward performance.

I'm surprised that neither GPU blew up running with a turbo i7, lol!

Just not under $50.

Shop around and you can probably get a Xbox 360 for a good price (I managed to get a brand new 120gb for £110 around November last year). They're not exactly expensive anymore and are just getting cheaper and cheaper.

I'm not biased toward one or the other, I love both equally (I love my phone more actually), but realistically if someone was going to use a PC for gaming I would think they would rather invest into one that's going to be a bit more future proof for the games and not struggle as games start hitting DirectX11 etc.

I mean why would you want to game in DirectX9 on your PC?

As far as that standard goes I see consoles as the better investment. I think toward the end of this year, and into next year, when (assumably) DirectX11 is in more focus and new engines are released/developed for next generation hardware is where we'll see PCs start to shine again.

Just not under $50.

Shop around and you can probably get a Xbox 360 for around a similar price point or perhaps a little more. They're not exactly expensive anymore and are just getting cheaper and cheaper.

You still have to pay the original amount first. Thus requiring you to pay $64.99 upfront then claim your money back via mail.

Thinking I'd actually get my money back from the US via mail would be like thinking I could sleep with someone unprotected with HIV and not risk catching anything.

And yeah I went from one to the other. And?
