Wait what?? GamingPC vs PC+Console price? - Page 5

tyuo9980's basic idea is correct. If you only factor in games, then computers are a bad deal. "Gaming PCs" can do a lot more than just game though, deal with it haters.

wait what? a pointless thread?

but how much will that $800 pc cost for someone to build it? surely a console gamer wouldn't know how to. your argument is invalid. besides, who would pay for a gaming pc. they would be stuck with crappy console ports.

What's even more frustrating is when people buy a laptop and never take it out of their room... I mean ***? I only know two people in my barracks who have a desktop, everyone else has a laptop, such a waste.

No serious minded person would game only on consoles.

So you're appealing to idiots. Good luck with that. Btw, idiots don't have to know..

When articles like this come out telling people what to get rid of (or not), expect robots to execute command. Hell, there's plenty of articles stating to make the transition to using less than that such as a tablet pc or iPhone for daily tasks and get rid of the desktop......desktops are becoming the thing of the past for common users.

If you want to replicate that desktop experience, you can always connect your laptop to a larger display and keyboard.

my rig = $800.

and my rig can do everything much faster than that crapbox or ps3 put together.

how does that make sense?

if everyone thought of that logically and put together the facts why wouldnt the pc market be larger than the console market? sry, but not every1 can spent a little amount of brainpower and time to think that through.

what are your thoughts?
Your point?

I agree with this.

Idiots, err.. I mean 'Casual Users' haven't needed a desktop PC since.. 2008.

The point is not to make them use desktops.. the point is to stop caring about them.

If only they didn't outnumber us so widely.. the entire focus of the industry might actually be ahead.

Ah, I get it now. So that means that I'm an idiot for building this gaming/encoding machine, plus a PS3 for my bedroom Netflix/bluray needs, plus in the future an XBOX 360 for my living room needs. :/

Consoles aren't only for gaming either guys. They can be used for multimedia as well....
