I have exactly the same problem, also a crash to desktop at the end (?) of the video after save point "72 power out". I am playing at "Veteran" difficulty, at the middle graphics quality setting. System: Windows 7 64-Bit, ATI HD4890, Core 2 Duo E8400.

I will try this http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1037066176&postcount=1533 for now.

For anyone who has this issue, go to start a new game and click 'replay mission' - I didn't notice that Eye of the Storm is already selectable, so just hit that and it loaded up no problem.

Have you checked your drivers for everything? Bios too?

Oh he has a sli set up.

I'm seeing so many sli users have problems. Maybe disable that in the game or get a driver patch installed and try it?

Can be anything.

Sandybridge not for gaming? Have you seen the benches?

If that doesn't work, then download these 2 files. This starts you at the beginning of the cut scene that follows immediately after the cut scene that takes place after you're done sabotaging the spear:

http://home.comcast.net/~twocables/default_Roosevelt_crysis.CSF

http://home.comcast.net/~twocables/default_Roosevelt_crysis.meta

Put these files here:

"C:\Users\mmoeller\Saved Games\Crysis2\SaveGames"

When you load this, check all of your settings - including your difficulty setting. I don't know what these files carry in addition to this specific part in the game (I don't know if these files carry any of my in-game settings). You may also end up with all of my weapons (which if I do say so myself, I think my loadout is pretty good).

Anyway, I gave these files to billythekid2012, and they worked!

The "Replay Mission" and selecting the "Eye of the Storm" chapter worked for me. And the warning in game, I would loose all my current game state is a bit stupid, as I would loose only the state of what I played in "Eye of the Storm", which is of course nothing at that point.

@TwoCables: Thank you very much for uploading the files, that would have been my last option (as Crytek seems not to be very quick in fixing bugs that should have never made into a release anyway).
