Monitor will look better in most cases. How far do you sit from it anyways? And are your uses mostly gaming or what?

Smaller monitors are better and you can usually connect it to computer. And my 27" was pretty cheap

Well if you are a console gamer and a tv watcher I would get the TV.. If you are a solely a PC gamer and have a adaquete tv already I would take the monitor. But there arae some monitors that have tuners in them and support composite (RBG) inputs.

Definitely the monitor. What is your budget? Getting into something like the Dell IPS panels would be ideal. The U2311 (23 inch), U2410 (24 inch), and the u2711 (27 inch), are outstanding. You will not be disappointed. Do a few searches on them and you'll see how popular they are. The 23 unfortunately (in my opinion) only goes up to 1080, but if you jump into the 24 or the 27 you have 1920x1200 and 2560x1440 respectively.

You can get into the 23 for around 300~, or less used, the 24 for around ~500, and the 27 for around 900~.

If you hop into a decent sized (32+) TV, you'll still only be getting 1080 no matter how large of a screen you op for, and not nearly as brilliant of a display as any of the dells. If you're after the size factor, a TV may be a great option for you (depending on how far you sit away from it, what you're actually planning on using it for, etc). At 32~ you would expect to pay upwards of 450-550 for a good brand with all of the features you could ask for.

Short version: For gaming, graphics/video editing/rendering, hop into a nice monitor. For watching movies/web content, or if you're OK gaming at 1080, you might like a nice size TV.

Another thing, if you get a TV it may not operate at the resolution necessary to play some games. I had that problem with Evil Genius and a couple older games.

Eh idk personally if your playing games on a computer i would get a monitor. I purchased a 24 inch 120hz Acer GD235hz and my face is probably 2 and a half feet away from it when im using it. Big enough. 1920x1080 doesnt look too bad then its damn smooth if your computer is producing the framerate to take advantage of the 120hz refresh rate.

I tried out some little 32 inch LCD TV for my computer one time and the damn thing only went to 720p which was kind of weak so you got this big pixelated image with a little bit of wierd image lag. Not quite as good imo.

My budget is around 500$ 600$ close to those lines, a bit depending has I would allow my self to pay a bit more for a TV due to this being for my bedroom wich has no TV atm.
It's mainly for games and web, thank you for the answers.
