Linux Drivers?

Thread Starter
I'm using
XFX 5550
Ubuntu 10 LTS

Just cant get it to work with Ubuntu.

I can get in under the safe graphics mode, but Once I get in I cant get any Drivers installed that work.

Works fine on Windows of coarse. Win 7 is my primary OS, but I was in the mood to give Linux 1 more try.

Hi cayennemist. In what way can you not get any drivers installed? Is it the Linux drivers downloaded directly from the ATI website (11.3) that you are trying to install?

The Unoffical AMD wiki has helped me work out whatever errors I was getting in the past. The driver in the ubuntu repository will install on pretty much all ATI cards, even if they are not supported (happened to my 6950), and I had the same problem, could only boot into safe mode. Using 11.3 Cats and following the wiki got me up and running again.
