GFX for new rig

Thread Starter
hey everyone! i'm trying to build my first gaming computer, and i'm not sure which graphics card to go with..
i'm deciding between the ATI 5870 or the GTX580. i'll mainly be playing COD and BFBC2.
help please?

Welcome to OCN! For those games you really only need a 5870, it does quite well. The gtx 580 would be good for future proofing, for games like bf3. The 5870 is a lot cheaper than the 580, it all depends on how much money your willing to spend.

If you can afford 580 without skimping out on other components.. then I say go for it

Actually, with the V7 client, you can run folding@home on ATi much better than with V6

Also, it's Nvidia.
