Still using my Q6600, but it's starting to fail at above 3.0Ghz. It still runs BC2 maxed 1680x1050 8xAA @ stock. Probably going SB in the near future.

It's like that everywhere.
A Q9650 goes for $100 more than a 2500k, and the 2600k with HT goes for the same price. Totally rediculous.

Anyone trying to buy a new system without HT will spend LESS buying a P67+2500k, than a P45+Q9650, with all the price gouging on fully working P45 mainboards used ones selling for more than MSRP...)

I'm using my E8400 as in sig but I have just purchased I7 920 so I am selling my CPU , motherboard and ram. At the moment It eats anything I throw at it. Including GTA IV and Crysis. I'm upgrading in preparatin for BF3.

The idea is that it's more expensive for people who have a good foundation (motherboard/RAM) and don't want to up and replace the whole core components, but want a better CPU, namely, dual core users. That is a crazy price though.

In my HTPC I'll soon have a Pentium D 820.
My laptop has a Core 2 Duo T7500.

They're really not that outdated yet and can run most games just fine. Core 2 Quads are still great processors.
