[YT/Vortez] Foxconn Rattler P67 Motherboard Preview (Quantum Series)

Thread Starter

Ha! I knew it was only a matter of time before the Quantum Force series came back to life. I really hope they make a showing in the X79 segment.

First thing I thought was that "It'd rattle during operation." and that the box has a car infront. Why would it be named as such? Rattles in cars arent ever good.

Tho, honestly. Sweet looking board.

Hope it performs! I really enjoyed my Inferno Katana on the p55. I hope they got rid of that dreadful "i-tweaker" crap.

Do I see an IDE connector on that board? I thought P67 boards don't include IDE connectors.

Correct; they use a third-party controller (likely Marvell like they did on past boards including mine) for that plus eSATA. The justification for this (or rather, for using IDE in the first place) is to avoid OS corruption when doing PCI-e overclocks, but the controller is connected via PCI-e internally anyway so I don't know if you can still avoid that.

Onboard overclocking buttons... Never heard of those before.

But looks like an awesome board, I still use IDE for my boot drive and DVD reader

I like this board. Nearly everything looks functional, and the layout is good.

Ah, thanks, I was hoping TPU would have dirt on this, since they did first with the Blood Rage when I originally broke news about that. (Btw I know you're still around here W1zzard so just PM me if there's a problem with that pic being there.)

Nice to see more spacing between the 2 PCIe slots as well a lot of boards only have 1 slots worth of space between them so when running sli/xf the 2 cards are right on top of each other

Wish they would have came out with this earlier, would have been my board.

I had a very budget foxconn board back in the day that i have put through hell and is still kicking. Gave me a lot of excellent features for the price and never did me wrong.
