BIOS freeze need some help.

Thread Starter
Sorry for the length

Finally got all the components to my sig rig and put it all together the other day.
powered up and got to the bios intro screen (where it gives you the options [DEL] for BIOS, [F12] for boot menu etc) and when I hit keys for the options it's unresponsive. Occasionally the screen goes black and it sounds like it's trying to boot but then it just returns to the intro screen.

Every once or twice it booted up Windows 7 from the CD drive starts to install and then blue screens

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

My guess is bad ram. Try one stick at a time. Don't waste your time either with the windows memtest, its garbage. Happened to ym buddy, BSOD;ing on install and turned out to be ram.

Yeah, could be, I tried one stick but did no good. Problem is with no spare ram laying around it'd be a pretty expensive test to buy some just to see if it's the ram.

Sorry, any more suggestions?

You tried both sticks, one at a time, in the primary slot?

I have tried both sticks in the primary and I can't run memtest on the system. But the consensus does seem to be suggesting the ram.
