My friend needs a new power supply and is deciding between these two.

He will be sleeving it so the seasonic looks like a better option as it has a modular atx aswell.

thoughts?

We have limited brands of things in New Zealand so that may not be avaliable..and its all NZD so everything is overpriced anyway.

Yeah don't listen to this guy...ever.

Anyway, the X-560 is the better power supply out of those two.

the seasonic and the corsair are pretty much the same and are pretty much one of the best quality PSUs on the market...

you definitely can't go wrong with either.

No, they're completely different units and the SeaSonic is miles better. Not saying the Corsair is a bad unit, it's pretty good, but it's got nothing on the SeaSonic.

OP, if you have the budget for the SeaSonic, and it's enough power for the system you're building, it's an awesome, awesome purchase.

I'd actually go further to say the Corsair isn't really good value at the moment. There are XFX units that I think are a bit more bang for your buck. But yeah, the Seasonic is about as high quality as you're possibly going to get (apart from those Platinum ones that are coming out).

I recently built a mATX sandybridge system with a X560, and it was, hands down, the nicest PSU I have ever handled. Worth every penny. Completely silent, cool. All the reviews are glowing. I would recommend it above any other power supply in this power range.
