I would have say ATI, seeing how it has x200 onboard but I'm not 100% sure. The motherboard is an ASUS A8AE-LE / AmberineM-GL6E.

Chipset: RS482 Northbridge
SB400 Southbridge

Heres a link with all the info: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?dlc=en&lc=en&product=1127219%E2%8C%A9=en&cc=us&docname=c00496280#N849

Btw, my CPU is at 230 w/ a x10 multiplier @ 1.35 Vcore.

Id say go for the 4850 unless u want to make sure it'll work on that psu and don't want to risk it. Get a 4670 in that case but if I were u I'd get the 4850 borrow the psu from Ur buddy and power up praying that it works lol

I'm kinda leaning toward the 4670. I'm kinda leery on the 4830 with my PSU, and the 4670 pulls roughly 60w max so it should.

*Edit*
Apparently a 4670 will work with my mobo. With linux at least.

Although its a long shot you could try to find a Green 9800/8800GT - i had one and its a great card for budget, and does not require a lot of power.

Thanks everybody for helping me out. I've decided to go with the 4670. Its not too expensive, pretty powerful and I know it will work on my mobo / PSU.

Thanks & + rep.

...I wanted to give a vote also to the 4670. It's not like the 4850 wouldn't work on the PSU, it would work as HP stock PSUs aren't complete junk. 19A on the +12V rail makes for 230W almost exclusively for the CPU & GPU so you could even put 2x4850 and the PSU should work like a tank.

The 4670 is adapted to the CPU though and consumes a bit less - this could translate into more silent operation.

I'm hoping it don't explode on 1x 4670, lol. Maybe I can actually play Penumbra with this card at least.

Just received the card today. Wow this thing is fast! So far I've only played Penumbra Overature and Amnesia, but this thing is amazing. I've ran both games at completely max settings and it ran super smooth.

Not only does this card kick ass, I haven't even tried (or needed too) overclocking it yet. Very good card and its running on just the one power supply also.
