[Endgadget] Alienware reveals M14x - Page 4

What ever happened to 1600x900... it's a great screen in my own opinion. A lot nicer than 1366x768 and not as demanding as 1920x1080/1200

I've always thought the Alienware lappys always had a really chunky bottom, I admit the top screen portion looks nice but I would never own one, would head to XoticPC if I were to buy a lappy.

m11x is powerful for 11" but at 14" your a notebook, I wouldn't compare the two on any levels.

Anyone got specs for the M11x? I see it has SB chips, but what of GPU? I am really curious about that lil guy.

335m aka terrible. The 555m is close to a 460m which makes it a midrange gpu

Also this m14x is gonna be ridiculously expensive, 2820qm with a 555m? That's WAY overkill. A 2820 belongs with a 6970 or 485m, not midrange 555m.
Shouldve been paired with a dual core SB, 2630qm or MAX 2720qm.
This is just stupid.

/raises hand...I work for Alienware in fact I'm he who makes your mobile drivers if you're one of our customers and secondly, yes; we most certainly write our own because Nvidia fails.

The 540m and the 460m are 2 of the most notoriously **** mobile drivers in the world...so, yeah.

Care to attempt that again? Or...?

If you'd like to change that, start participating in user polls.

Where are these polls? I really want a laptop with 16:10 display (to the point where I don't think I'm going to get a laptop at all if I have to go 16:9, even though I kinda need one)

They're sent out to current customers...One of the interns in the office is responsible for the mass-mail.

There's a whole testing basis etc...

Can't get into it much but, supply vs demand...you want it, it gets built.

Ok so that doesnt work then. Cause I refuse to be a current customer unless they offer 16:10. But they won't offer 16:10 because I'm not a current customer tongue.gif

Given the experience I've had with my GF's m15x (from 2009 I believe), I'll never patronize Alienware so long as I breathe smile.gif The one feature of theirs that I like and find difficult to find without paying via body parts is the illuminated keyboard.
