Laptop for World of Warcraft

Hey, everyone. I'm back for more help because you guys are the best at giving it. I'm looking to purchase a laptop for under $500 that can max World of Warcraft settings. I'm not sure if it's possible, or not.

I've looked at the recommended settings & have found computers that match that, but I don't believe that will allow me to max the settings. I could be wrong.

If you can't point me to a specific laptop, is it possible to just tell me the minimum specs needed to max the settings?

Thanks for any help you can give me. You guys are the best.

To max it? You won't find one under $500 that can actually max WoW. My sig laptop can max it (except for shadows) and it was $1k. I used to play WoW on my old laptop that was $500, had to turn everything to low, but I could play, and raid on it.

Shadows will be your biggest problem to max it out. If you take that out of loop(shadows to low) you might be able to find one for that money.

i assure you your notebook doesn't max WoW with those specs.

let me know what your FPS is during a 10/25 man raid
or even just standing in org/sw when you're not staring at the ground lol.

I don't even turn shadows on, my FPS tanks. I also don't turn on ground clutter either.

With my rig in my 10 man raids I get around 80+ FPS maxed out minus shadows and ground clutter during boss fights. If I'm just standing there it's 120+ without Vsync.

But if I'm just standing in SW my FPS is pretty low due to the amount of people.

I remember when I had my old dual core @ 1.8ghz with a 4850 that wasn't even running at advertised speeds because it was so bottlenecked, I had around 15 FPS with everything at lowest/disabled.

Good times. Seriously though, you're going to have to spend a decent amount of money on a laptop if you want to play WoW on it. WoW may not seem like a demanding game, but it really is. Maybe not CPU wise because it still doesn't utilize more than two cores I believe, but still. It's very GPU/network heavy.

your cocky, I assure you it does. Havent done raids since cat came out, org i average 35. 5 mans runs around 50. World 55-60

lets be honest wow doesnt have amazing graphics, its shadows eat memory and thats about it. Other than that my 460 reports on average 350-400mb of video memory used.

I want this. Is it your computer listed in your signature? That seems like it's way over my budget.

This is going to be my back up computer, so I suppose I don't need to max it out. Currently, I have a laptop that's still kicking that's about 10 years old that I'm trying to replace. With everything minimized, it still doesn't load some of the character models & I'm fighting little red circles on the ground. It's terrible. It also sucks for mining because I have to have my view distance turned all the way down. And when it is running I'm sure it's below 10fps.

If something can remedy these things, that'd be great. I'd like to see the magical effects & such as well. I'm not worried so much about shadows. I was just hoping there was something out there in my budget that could run it like my desktop does. Now, I realize that seems kind of silly.
