Corsair TX650 V2 vs. other PSUs - Page 4

I'm about the get this TX650W V2 for replacement to my old VX550W which RMA'd.

Is it decent? Can it power up 6870 crossfire? It has 140mm fan which is nice smile.gif

The TX650V2 is excellent and can easily power a pair of 6870s. Consider that it can handle a pair of 6970s without trouble.

I'm just building my friends rig with some of my old parts, pretty set on getting the Corsair TX650 v2 for him so he doesn't go out and get a junk PSU. Specs are the following, the 650W should power it fine right?

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Asus P5Q SE2
2x2gb ram
Asus Radeon 4870x2 tri fan
Few HDD's etc.

From the Guru3d review looks like the 4870x2 pulls around 450W full load so the 650W should do fine right?

It'll be fine, although all you really need here is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207013 if you want to save some cash without sacrificing quality.

@ OP,

TPN over TXv2 & TXM
I disagree to some extent with Phaedrus on this one, the TPN shows better numbers constantly than the TXv2, they do use the same Seasonic SS-xxxAT platform(same used by the XFX Core 650 for the above poster), but the TPN is slightly above the Core/TXv2 standards, also the Core 650 and the TPN come with 4x PCIe connectors unlike the TXv2 which comes with only two, offering inferior functionality in this regard.
From where are you buying these units?.. link the shop/s in question for some other suggestions..

Where do NZXT PSUs fit in?

Seems like they never get mentioned, but reviewers have been kind. I'm considering the 750w for my next build. Thoughts?

The NZXT Hale90 units are on the same level with Seasonic X/Corsair AX units.. they're pretty well priced but unlike the Seasonic/Corsair counterparts they almost never get discounted so if you're not in the market for bargains there's no reason not to get a NZXT Hale90 unit.

FYI, they use the SF GG platform which is the same one found inside the Rosewill Lightning/Capstone series, the Sentey Golden Steel series and the Kingwin Lazer Gold series.. in Europe you can also find them under the OEM brand that manufactures them, Super Flower Golden Green.

i will buy from here. The prices are almost the same. I found out that XFX-TXV2 are almost identical. The thing is that i cant find anywhere a review for the Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675W. It is modular which is a plus, but i want to know besides that, how good it is in comparison with the other two (quality, reliability, noise...).
