Silver Arrow, passive cooling?

I'm wondering how many people are running this cooler passively, what kind of temps are you getting? I'd like to use this cooler for my next build (SB/2500k) but run it passively. I've seen some reviews with an i7 clocked at over 4Ghz and the temps still stay within reasonable temps at load.

I think you're better off with the HR-02 because the fins are spread out wider making it easier to cool with no fans.

The HR-02 is one of if not the best passive coolers there are. I never tried running my SA passively either.

Silver Arrow is very close, sometimes better than HR-02 from the reviews I've read. I just like the look of it personally.

I'm just trying to find out how its working for other people. Guess not too many are using this cooler passively...

Have you seen reviews of the SA run passively? Just curious, as I haven't found any. The SA usually performs ~4C better than a 1-fan HR-02 from what I've seen (iirc). I just can't imagine it running that well passively, the whole concept of it is that you jammed a fan in the middle of the heatsink.

a silver arrow is twice the cooler the 212+ is and it got 22C idel and basic usage and like 47c full load. as long as the air isn't stagnant and can be pulled away from the cooler you should be good.

Ya I guess I'll have to try it, started ordering parts for my new system. Will be testing this out on a i7 860.
