Nothing except you can get a GTX460 SE for $6 more.

GTX550 isn't much better than a 5770, which is significantly cheaper..

Why is it that Nvidia can make such awesome SINGLE GPU solutions, or even SLI, but they can't make a damn dual GPU set up on a single PCB without it having some major issues or quirks or whatever?

Not that I'll EVER recommend AMD/ATI for a graphics card, but cmon Nvidia =/

Right, Awesome single gpu solutions?

not recommend amd/ati?

Lol funny. some people gotta get out of that bubble of theirs.

but anyways, the 590's gpus were cherry picked right? wouldnt that mean theyre proven clockers? kind of a waste....

It's not a bubble when I've been back and forth between Nvidia and ATI over the past 7 years. Over the past 2 years I've had the 3870, 4770, 4890, and 5850 from ATI. I've had the GTX 260 (in SLI as well) and the 460. By far I have been most satisfied with the 460.

How is that a bubble? Before that I've had the ATI 9600, 9800 Pro, an Nvidia 7900GS and 6600.

So yes, I won't recommend AMD/ATI cards. I have yet had an ATI card that could handle alt tabbing or multiple 3d applications at once like Nvidia could. Nor have I had one that would successfully force settings upon certain 3d programs such as anti-aliasing.

Some people need to get out of their bubble and stop assuming just because I don't like AMD/ATI GPUs means I have never had one and know first hand

Fail. Fail. Fa-Fa-Fail.

First time I've been severely disappointed with anything Nvidia has made.. Remember when they called it a great OCer before launch?
Well, I'm kinda glad I brought the 6990 now, but tbh, even with the weak VRMs on the 590, I'd quite happily take one if it was priced right. One of the main reasons why I chose the 6990 was for tri-fire capability with a 6970 and the fact the 590 costs $1500 NZD vs $1200 NZD for the 6990.

In NZ, the 6990 is still a $900 USD card which seems we down here are getting ripped big time, but hey still better than over $1000 USD for the 590.

Like me, I am sure the majority of people that buy the 6990 will buy a waterblock aswell which adds to the cost but eliminates the biggest problem with the 6990. With the 590 people can do without the block because of reasonable temps and noise.

My 2c...

You made the logical choice for an enthusiast. The hard-lock 590 is not an enthusiast card, particularly with the price premium over the 6990!

And Tri-Fire on 2 cards is a major plus for the price compared to Nvidia line-up. Can't do that with nvidia.
