i7 2600k vs x6 1055t - Page 4

uhm just get 2500k or wait for bulldozer, thubans are a tad inefficient and wasteful since 2 of the 6 cores mostly won't be made use of.

The i5-2500k is faster than a AMD x6 in everything, even encoding/rendering... The question is though, do you really need it on a single 5850?

Don't get me wrong its awesome that 4 cores can beat 6 in multi-tasking, but its not by a lot.. I don't see the point.

Yea, about a single Card, I'm selling my 5850 and getting 2x6850, I have the cash already for that. Its just a matter of weeks to make that upgrade.

Doooooo it!!!!!!!

But before you do bench the 6850s on your 1055T so you can truly appreciate just how much better the i5 is.

@OP lets put it this way on my 1055t with my same gpus I got 80-100 FPS on sc2 with BFBC2 I got around 90-110 fps.

With same gpus on my i5 2500k I get steady 135-150 fps in sc2(good fights) and solid 140 fps in BFBC2 sometimes hovers around the ceiling of 200fps for brief moments. I call that excellent increase and way worth it. It unleashed my gpus to the max.

Agreed x 10000!!!!!!

Please bench your gpus with 1055t so you can see what I have been trying to tell these fanboys. You will see a massive increase with crossfire scalling once you drop a i5 in that rig.

I was just there so I know.lol

i laugh on "advisors" like you, no official tests are out, but you CAN PREDICT THE PERFORMANCE of unreleased chip..

You guys should try lotto.. Seriously, doh

I didn't say BD would be slower. I said I DOUBT(my opinion) that AMD will have a 300 dollar chip that matches up with the 2600k.

They see me trollin, They hatin, THEY CATCH ME RIDIN NERDY!!!

But in all seriousness age_ruler1, just grab a 2500K if you want the cheaper high-end gaming option or grab the 2600K if you are doing some serious encoding where you would use the 8 threads. I would upgrade your graphics card though like some of the guys here are saying.
