Hi guys. First out, sorry for my lack of English. If you dont understand something or if i'm vague, just ask.

I'm finaly found a stabil overclock but at the same time worried over the high voltage.

The setup
*i7 930
*Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600MHz
*ASUS P6T Deluxe V2

Settings - Everything is measured on full load with prime95
*Revision - D0
*Core speed - 4.2GHz
*DRAM frequency - 1600MHz 8-8-8-24
*CPU ratio setting (multipel) - 21
*BCLK - 200
*CPU voltage - 1.40V
*CPU PLL voltage - 1.84V
*QPI/DRAM voltage - 1.375V
*DRAM bus voltage - 1.64V
*Hyperthreading - OFF
*Turbo - OFF

*CPU temp - 76C/168.8F
Core 1 - 85C/185F
Core 2 - 82C/179.6F
Core 3 - 83C/181.4F
Core 4 - 80C/176F
Cooling with a Antec H2O + Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850rpm

I'm kind of new when it comes to overclocking, so i need all the help i can get. I've tried to lower the voltage but it always end up freezing or BSOD when i play some games. So does it look OK or should i try reduce the voltage?

intell data sheets list max voltages for i7 900 series as
CPU Core - 1.55
CPU VTT - 1.35
Stay under these and try to get it stable with the lowest voltage you can.
I have my I7-950 running 4.0ghz 24/7 stable ( its running great! ). Here are my numbers hope its a little help to you!

For 4.2Ghz do you need CPU voltage - 1.40V?

Yes. If i run it on lower and play some newer games it ends up with freezing or BSOD. It's strange when other people can run at the same speed with only ~1.3v

MIKEVALL. Do you have Intel HT enabled?

Not all CPUs require the same voltages. Some require more, some require less.

Your voltage is a little high but if your temps are OK, it should be fine.
