nb wont go over 13x - Page 2

Now there's a loaded question lol.
Crosshair IV is the flag ship of Asus as of right now, and seeing both the Formula and Extreme where just released late last year it's a tough call on how long before something better will be out. There are several top Asus mobo's AM3+ capable with just a bios update which means they should run Bulldozer. That's been a real hot topic on here lately. Just depends on how long you wish to wait, BD is suppose to be released June 11th (for shipping anyway).

Right now they are unheatsinked and probably completely uncooled due to the TX3 tower cooler - and pushing over 125W - so they may get hot enough for OCP protection to kick in and throttle your CPU during load or even shut down the board.
As for the NB, at 2820 I'd say you're about at the limit for C3 revision IMCs

The main timings for RAM (CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRC, Command Rate) are the ones you try to lower. One at a time or for the first three values (CL, TRCD, tRP) three at a time (except maybe the middle value). Overclocking your RAM by speed or timings will also depend on your particular kit, rated speed/timings, and ICs if you can find them.
Correct, Phenom C3's cannot surpass 2.8ghz.

ok tahnks to all of u on the nb question i will leave it at 2.8... as for the board do u know the board that will do this am3+ with bios.. and will they run the bd at full... not worrid about getting new chip yet just what to know if i should get a new board now or get heatsinks and get a new board in july when the bd is in full swing.... and as for the ram timming is it bad to be 9-7-7-22-30 as any time i change the cl-9 to any lower it wont boot

Actually they can sometimes but it is very unlikely.
I don't think ASUS is updating this board for AM3+; only the highest end ones. For the low-end they are releasing new "M5A" series motherboards.

What is the official rated speed/timing/voltage of your RAM.... and what speed/voltage are you running them at?

the ram speed i have is the gskll ripjaw 1333 9-9-9-24-33-t1 at 1.5 but i had to get it to 1.6 to overclock with fsb.. and thanks on the board...
