Whatever. I'm out. Said all I can. The rest is just useless bickering.... but I might reply if someone has a good argument
A soul is a spiritual concept not religious.

I'm an atheist and I believe in souls.

I read the article; this isn't news. I'm all for human brain emulation and transhumanism, and believe strongly it's inevitable, but until it (or something requisite) happens, it's conjecture.

I use the word 'soul' to refer to the transient mind, which undoubtably exists.

That would explain why the universe is ever expanding with empty "space" that cannot be seen or felt, yet exists. Space is made up of souls. I have no proof, but a man can dream. It sounds better than the more probable scenario that our parent's are Gods, who create life between the boundaries of birth and death, with nothing before or after.

I'll be mid 50s, if I can stay in shape, my body will still be worth conserving and making immortal. Score!

This is a very cool article. I myself believe that aging is a disease and that we will find a "cure" for it, hopefully within my lifetime. I want to live forever.

Look look look,

All we need is, for computers and technology to get smart enough that it can then make it's own advancements in technology 1000 times faster than the last time it advanced itself so it can create machines that can carry us through the cosmos. Oh how I wish I would be alive when this happens!

isn't aging just prolonged exposure to oxygen? or maybe i'm completely wrong altogether?
