YONKERS, N.Y., April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After almost a year in which the Apple iPad has been virtually the only game in town in tablet computers, some serious competitors are finally hitting the market. Yet in Consumer Reports latest tests of the 10 most-promising tablet computers, the Apple iPad 2 with Wi-Fi and 3G topped the Ratings. The full report including Ratings of tablets is available at www.ConsumerReports.org.

Can't call ConsumerReports a bunch of Apple fanboys given they don't recommend either version of the iPhone 4.

I really wish apple would put in an SD card. Honestly expandable storage is pretty important in a portable device. I will buy one when this happens. Otherwise I'm sitting in the sidelines till tablets drop below 200$.

I am a big fan of the iPad 2. I actually bought one 2nd day after launch, but returned it right at 14 days because I realized I don't really NEED it. I have my current sig rig, iPhone 4, and 2010 MacBook Pro with intel SSD / 500GB 5400rpm in the optical drive slot (via adapter)

HOWEVER - iPad 2 is awesome, and if it wasn't literally just a toy for me, I would have totally kept it.

Good job , this is the best tablet on the market yet , even though it lacks some features that other tablets have. It's fluid and has ton of apps.

When I look at the competitors right now ( thinking about Xoom , Galaxy tab ) it's laggy as hell ( in OS and while browsing , pinch zoom ) and it doesn't even compare in terms of apps. IMO apps are the key to tablet success ( iPad ).

Flame me or not , this is the truth and I will start considering an Android based tablet when it's going to be a real product , not some POS that's currently on the market.
