The SD card slot adaptor only works for importing photos. You can't store media on it.

no surprise here. iPad is still way ahead of the competition in the tablet market if you ask me. The iPad proves specs dont make a tablet better per se. And for flash, its still garbage on tablets and smartphones which is why apple doesnt use it. Anyone used flash on the xoom? its makes the whole web browsing experience so slow and annoying. iPad isnt perfect but it beats everything else thats for sure. /rant

i still dont see the use of these new phone-based tablets, their fun toys, but ive yet to see any practical value to them. (i have a samsung Galaxy tab, gf has an ipad)

that said, as far as tablets go, the ipads are damn nice.
Hardware wise, the iPad is a fine machine. However, I wish it would get a real OS.
CR gives fair reviews. They gave the iPhone 4 a crap rating, and they gave this tablet a good rating.

I dont see how flash is bad. I can view all sites in my Galaxy S as i do in my phone ans its not slow at all. I can also play almost all flash video out there. Xoom being much faster then Galaxy S should have no problem with flash and its hardware acceleration.

I lost respect for CR a long time ago, but that was because they can't review cars. Haven't tried the iPad2, but prolly never will. Bought an iPod and an iPod touch, both crapped out and left unsupported. I'll give Apple credit, they can sell the the masses and the products are usable at first, but gets dumped 6 months down the road when they release the next model with 1 extra feature. That's just me though, if you have one and like it, then great, but I'm tired of wasting my money. Got me an Android and have no problems viewing anything on 2.2 with 4G & flash 10.1

Oh, and on that note, my sister said she saw a lady with an iPhone, iPod, and an iPad....talk about a dumbass. 1 ok you like it...but 3? Bought the same thing 3 times. Those are the people who make me wonder how smart some people really are.

My dad's work bought him a 64GB Ipad 2 3g (stupidly long name). I really like it. I wouldn't trade my HTC Evo for his iphone but I'm seriously considering an Ipad 2. It would also let me play with apps only on the other side of the fence.

My Dad accesses his work's citrix server with his. Alot quicker and lighter than pulling his laptop out of the bag and booting up. But lets face it, 97% of people just buy them to play with (movies, games, maybe music).

The truth about the iPad or really any tablet for that matter is that they are a complete luxury. You don't ever need one. You know they don't really do anything different then your smart phone. But they are pretty dang fun. That being said I will keep my $500 and spend it on something else.
