No problem guys!
Glad it was helpful.
The problem is indeed strange in my view as I had zero problems with mine OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD. I'm pretty sure that suddenly when you change motherboard at some point in the future (for a general upgrade), you will no longer have this issue. I'm sorry if this has been mentioned in a previous post and I've skipped over it but did you try having JUST the SSD connected to your motherboard (no other HDD, just perhaps your optical drive, too!
) and connected to the SATA-0 port (the very first one)?
Either way, it does indeed sound like a hardware problem to me. Not so much from the SSD, but from the motherboard. Something's going on there that is causing Windows 7 to not like AHCI from your motherboard for installation of the OS. Either that or Windows 7 isn't detecting your motherboard's AHCI mode and so during installation, there was a conflict of drivers. In the end Windows 7 must have wanted IDE mode (until you forced AHCI after installation, of course). If the motherboard manufacturer has nothing to say about it, perhaps a BIOS update will fix it all. I doubt very much it's an SSD issue!Edited by Gib007 - 4/10/11 at 11:59am
