P67 TriFire question

Thread Starter
Friend of mine is wanting to go for an Eyefinity setup on his ASUS P67 WS Revolution.

However, reading around, I keep seeing something about NF200 latency and what not.

So my question is:

Will 3x 6950 not run properly on a board with the NF200 chip? Or will it just lose a few % of performance or something?

What if he did a 6990 + 6950? Technically, it's two slots despite being TriFire. Will it have the same effect?

Thanks.

ok i'm trying to do the same atm. I m gald you mention that MB i may get that when i swap out.

atm the sandy bridge MB (from ppl i've spoke to and reviews) works abit diffence, it not all intergrated in to the chip.

it could cost afew frames.

from what i've read if you go and get 6990 and 6950, on a cfx MB you should be fine and you are using the 2 x16.

i'm prob going to try that and benchmark it. and then try three 6950 at 6970 clocks and shaders and see what better, but i think i'll have one card at x8 and the others at x16

Hmm. All right-y.

Now, about the PSU requirements. Will a Silverstone ST1000-G (1000W) be enough to power 6950x3, or 6990 + 6950? He plans on overclocking his CPU (2500k) as close to 5 GHz as he can get, as well as overclocking his GPUs as far as they can go.

He'll be water cooling as well.
