Alright, want to hit 4.0Ghz on B55.

What NB frequency? Volts? The CPU is stable @ 3.8 on stock V's. How should I go about pushing it?

Stock voltage is 1.4 right? You have pretty good cooling so go to maybe 1.475V, up the multiplier to 20. Run OCCT or prime on that for at least 3 or so hours then you can try dropping the voltage again. Once you have a stable OC, then up the CPU-NB freq to 2.6 and CPU-NB voltage up .1V because you will get much better memory performance. Plus look here for more detailed guides

Thanks dude. I'll do it as soon as I can.

There's no exact voltage setting. Every chip is different. Test and see what works for you.

Yeah you are right, but as somewhere general to start from is what I was thinking. He might not even be able to get there in the first place.

What about temperatures? I'm not really sure what temperatures I get on my B55 @ 3.6. Using HWmonitor I get TMPIN1 ranging from 27-45c, TMPIN2 ranging from 27-53c (Large FFTs stress test on P95) and lastly TMPIN3 is always at 81c... i tend to ignore that.

By the way Bkpizza I owned a factory overclocked Gigabyte 6850 prior to my 6950 and my current Gtx460. What's your OC room? Can you unlock voltage tweaking?

I'm at 4085 @ 1.475v on a C3 Stepping 965, so that is definitely a good ballpark for where you're voltages should be for 4Ghz.

Well, my main concern is the unlocked cores being not entirely stable. They work just fine at the speeds I'm running at now, though.

Also, you increased the voltage by 0.1v, correct? How much of a temp increase did you get?

Those temps look pretty good, my board is the sort of newer version of yours so I have that 79-81 temp as well. Um I also can't unlock voltage, something to do with a non-reference PWM, I can run it at 940/1225 without trouble, memory can probably go higher, but I haven't tried, the core starts to artifact at 950. How did yours go?
