Congrats on the purchase! I would love to buy one, but I just can't justify it with my next semester bill looming in the near future.

Dell has always been pretty good to me. I bought a refurb Dell Studio 14 last year and the screen only displayed white upon arrival. So they sent an on site technician. He replaced the display but only broke it more. So they sent a new refurb Studio 15 with better specs. So I've been really happy with Dell.
I do not have a problem with refurb things. I guess it is so becasue I am a European living in the USA. Dell is pretty good but their CSR suck. I think you may want to check the warranty on yours online. Whenever I check tags for mine I do not get any info. I called them once and after talking to so many Indians... I gave up. They just could not fix the problem.

p.s. my colleague at work bought an Ipod 64GB. I was playing with it today for a while. Nice toy.

Same here, refurb stuff doesn't scare me. As a matter of fact my previous monitor, the Samsung, was a refurb too. It just saves money and I haven't had any problems with them. The MacBook Air I bought was also a refurb.

What kind of warranty you got? I've thought about trading up to a 30" but this 27 is doing me just fine. Beware, however, that your eyes will bleed if you look at 1080p.

Ahh grats man! Glad to see it all worked out.

You gotta try Crysis on it... RL will look bland by comparison

I was considering the U3011 there for a while but if it wasn't $1900 here in Australia and $1300 for a refurb one I would get one.

Also the U2711 is just too good to pass up. I can grab two more for an eyefinity setup (when I upgrade my pc) for $1200 AUD

But overall good purchase mate I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

I updated with a 2560x1600 wallpaper and screen shot of my desktop (previous screen shot used a 1680x1050 wallpaper stretched). All I have to say is wow, gorgeous.

ThinkPad ultra-portables have chiclet keyboards. See the X120e.

There aren't any ThinkPad netbooks. Their IdeaPad netbooks do have chiclet keyboards, but they're obviously nowhere near as good as the one on the X120e. My mom bought an X120e and it arrived yesterday. I was setting it up and it definitely has the best laptop keyboard I have ever used. Easily better than the keyboard in the MBA.

On topic: is there a monitor that is 25" or higher and has a decent quality panel for less than $500?

The U2410 and HP ZR24w are the closest that come to that description, but obviously they're only 24".

OP: We're jelly.
