Help With Overclocking (Intel)

Thread Starter
Hello OC world! Sorry if I'm posting this to the wrong forum, I literally just now made the account so I could ask for some help.

I have a home built machine, and I'm looking to do some overclocking, but I don't want to screw anything up. I'm primarily looking to do some CPU overclocking, but it would be nice to get a bit more out of my memory too. My system is:

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W
GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel Motherboard
ZOTAC GeForce 9600 GSO 512MB
Intel Core i3-530 Clarkdale 2.93GHz LGA 1156
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 7200 RPM SATA
Stock cooling.

Sorry if I left anything out. Basically all I want is some help with overclocking this system. I've been doing some reading, but I only want to try things that I know should work with my system. I'm not necessarily looking for any step-by-step guides on how to reach x speed and y stability. Just some general guidelines for overclocking without frying my system. Thanks.

You can start here with the guides that have been posted.

Wealth of information in those.
