6950 shader unlock problem - Page 2

What do you mean by memory timings?
The ram timings between the cards are different, and that's what kills 6950s at 6970 stocks. I have a bios I made myself that should work, that is all 6950 stuff, but has the shaders unlocked, and tells everything it's a 6970 for CF with a 6970/90.

Ah ok. I thought you were talking about the RAM timings with the RAM thats on board.

i don't have any of my parts yet, but looks like I'll just be unlocking the shaders ond OC'ing from there

Yeah, it just for sure cuts down on it being able to die. Plus you can OC and overvolt more.
