Flashing can suck it. - Page 3

This is why i don't trust OCN for things like this.

you guys say "Get 6950 and unlock it it's the best thing eva, don't get a GTX570 or a 6970 they suck"

You go out and get 6950 and flash it.

50% chance it'll not work and it will scare the crap out of you

Then people will spam "umadbros" at you.

Good job OCN!

Even without unlock/flash the 6950 the best card price/performance wise out of 570/6970.

Also, free performance? Yes please.

I was more talking about the level of support you get from some OCN members. the Umadbros and the 'hahas' are really bad

They were jokes, probably meant to cheer up OP. He got his solution anyway.

The OP kinda invited that by RAGING instead of reading, searching, or heck just plain asking?

LOL @ the Semi Professional COD4 Player bashing OCN.

everyone always says flash at your own risk...

anyway flip to position 2, boot, flip to position 1 in the OS and load modded 6950 bios with unlocked shaders.
use Afterburner to get nice clocks and you'll pass stock 6970 in performance.

EDIT: OK didnt see that he got it.

Flashing/unlocking the 6950 is overrated. Most of the performance difference between the 6950 and the 6970 is clock speed, therefore overclocking yields a larger performance increase than unlocking. You will gain 1-3% in performance from unlocking where as you will gain 10-15% (6970 performance and beyond) from overclocking. See the comparison in my signature.

I did do the research on it. Also I was upset because even though you know risks for something and it does end up failing for a bit, you're going to be upset that something you spent 300 dollars on might be dead. Also I had no idea that switching the switch from 1 to 2 while booted and reflashing worked. So no it wasnt that simple.

Thanks to all the legit help I got.
