Am I the only one who wasn't aware of a PC war outside of news sites?

Good to know we are winning it according to them. All I really wanted was reduced drm and more friendly pc ports.

It would be great if we could get a easier way to buy and sell pc games without having to worry about cd keys and first time only dlc's. If anything it seems to me like the consoles are starting to get some of the same problems PC has with dlc that only applies to new customers.

To add to my opinion before.

If PC gaming, i won't cry. We are skating on thin ice. If they improve consoles enough, i won't complain about them. But for the moment PC happens to be the best.

Didn't a few companies just leave this 'pc gaming alliance' of which before reading about it earlier I had never heard about.

Thought intel/nvidia left or someone, don't remember.

I often think about what you have stated, especially the part in bold. With consoles growing long in the tooth, it would seem to me that vendors for PC related gear have an excellent opportunity to showcase their products. I could see companies like Asus, Intel, AMD, Logitech, etc. having computer build contests for young people. By offering discounts on the builds themselves, and prizes for innovation and creativity, you would not only create a buzz, but it would be excellent PR. Do things like this already occur? Does anyone know?

Lol I like how it says Intel and AMD formed the gaming alliance and they are saying the PC platform is thriving. Its either a very indirect marketing strategy or the truth because its not like people will make their minds up on a press release like this.
If it is the case however that the PC platform is going to be the center of attention again then I for one welcome the dx11 orgies with open legs

Who cares, I love PC and 'crapsole' gaming equally

as of now its not happening.

the only reason PC is more popular is because even basic PCs nowadays can run games from them 5 year old crapsoles.
If you honestly believe that DX11 and maxed out graphics will make up for absolutely terrible gameplay, then I really feel sorry for you. Graphics != content.
