BTW, what's your source/proof for saying that devs just "don't want to put in the extra effort"?

Maybe they don't want to put in the extra effort because 15 out of 16 people will just pirate their extra efforts instead of actually supporting them with a sale.

Oh, and just a heads up, developers don't give a crap about customers as picky as you, they're making games for gamers, not elitists.
This guy is my source/proof.

for you fellas who are arguing about piracy, think back to why people pirate in the first place. I bet 99% of the time its due to it being too expensive for what it is, and this sums up a large majority of PC games to date.

You misinterpreted what was said.

Lordikon isn't talking about devs not putting in extra effort, he's talking about idiots who are so tech nerdy they would pass on a game b/c it doesn't have Dx 11. He's talking about the obsessive-compulsive tech nerds that have to compare every pebble on the ground on a screenshot and get all melodramatic when there are differences so insignificant that you wouldn't notice them when playing the game at full speed.

At least, that's how I interpreted his statement.

You want the honest answer? Just like there are Intel & AMD fanboys or Nvidia & AMD fanboys, there are PC fanboys. I call them PC-elitists and they love to label themselves as more mature and superior and use every chance they have to label the average console player as an ADD-having 13 yr old but the reality is PC players are just as immature, if not more. For every 1 13yr old talking on his mic on the console, we have 10 racists yelling any racial comment they can b/c they think it makes them look cool and edgy.

Most people that I see crying about PC gaming dying are in their early 20s or younger. PC gaming is bigger than its ever been. Yeah, we have less exclusives but at the same time we get more A-list titles than ever before.

The ONLY genre of PC gaming that has a right to ***** is the RTS/Turnbased Sim market. I miss THOSE games, inventive games like Fallout, X-Com, Syndicate, Blizzard games when they used to come out more than once a decade, etc.

Hmm..... think this means we are winning.... lol

Also to the guy that said if only battlefield games were made for pc first.... You do realize that up until the bad company series they were... Also in better news DICE is coming home to its roots again. This wasn't were i first read it either. Think I found a link on shacknews but anyhow quick google.

http://bf3nation.com/2010/08/battlefield-3-is-being-developed-pc-1st-consoles-2nd/

But as far as this whole argument goes the way all hardware is being made I don't see how the pc couldn't win. I mean everything we use nowadays is sadly reaching pc levels. Don't get me wrong our gaming rigs blow everything out the water but look at it all. Phones with 1ghz processors and being overclocked running 3d games. Hell tv's now coming with applications on them. This whole tablet fad that's just stupid to me but taking off. Consoles are fading and until the holy trinity of consoles makes new hardware its going to stay that way.

Also for the piracy issue. I do believe its a big reason because like was mentioned before, these big ceo's are all about money and any chance of it scares them. They see one game get pirated horribly then just assume all are. The numbers of crysis getting pirated 15:1 is an example. I mean that's really not even fair. Bad game was bad. Anyone ever think maybe THAT'S why its sales were crap? Also another problem that goes into the piracy of pc games is the lack of love from developers/publishers. It has become a trend that we don't get a demo for a game or if we do its thrown together buggy as hell and after the release. So of course you will have people that pirate it to see if they like it. And to validate the guy that bought crysis 2 after pirating, I have done the exact same thing in the past. /rant

Anyhow I hope the PC is truly falling back into the light of the dev's and we do start getting better games.

Games being too expensive is an excuse that has already been shot down. The only way this makes sense is if you're talking about markets like China, India and Brazil and to a lesser extent, sometimes what they do to markets like Aus.

If PC won over console wars. then why PC wont get Game-RED redemption, and DLC games, for example DS2: severed, etc.

Incorrect.

The main reason that piracy of all forms of media has exploded to levels that is has it due to the fact that broadband internet is now readily available to everybody for relatively low prices, and storage mediums (read: Blank DVDs, HDDs, and portable HDDs) are dirt cheap for the amount of data they can hold.

Everybody didn't just wake up one day and say "NO WE REFUSE TO PAY YOUR HIGH PRICES"... Okay maybe like 0.1% of the pirates. This only happened because the means to access the data became easily available to every Tom, Dick, and Harry.

This
Sometimes i wonder why should i spend this 60 USD on a product that is abandoned by developers/publishers from the beginning. Might not support x-fire/sli, eyefinity, not use all of my hardware to its potential or just be a plain crappy game.
