The only things I've done are defended the side that usually goes undefended here to try and curb some of the ungodly bias that a lot of people here have. I make no attempt to 'recruit console gamers' like I've seen some posts being made about for the PC side. Now that's funny right there.

A real reasonable guess would be console games will be along the technological prowess of the games pushing hardware in late 2013 and 2014. Take a look at the 360. That came out a year after Half-Life 2 and can very easily run it at decent settings.

When was it losing?

Okay, look.

Not sure if most of you are young gamers or something, but this is how it always is.

See, right now, is the end of the life of the current consoles. Granted MS & Sony want to keep it going for another 5 years, but that won't happen.

Graphics evolve. Better stuff comes out. Why would you want to spend your career just programming on 5 year old tech, when there's better and new tech coming out? Not to mention that will make you fall behind when the next conoles get released, since they will be based off of the current tech.

There is a reason the Atari's, the Amiga's died to the PC. It was all about updating componets with new stuff as the tech advanced.

The problem is, MS & Sony went about making their consoles completely wrong. Nintendo, though, on the other hand, did it right. Do you know what they did?

Nintendo didn't take a loss on hardware, while MS & Sony took big losses on hardware, hoping to make it up in software. Which is why they want their consoles to last 10 years, so they can make as much money as they can. They do NOT care about their consumers, and it's apparent.

Programming is a craft, and like any craft, you need to stay current, or get left behind. Programming PS3 & 360 games isn't as current as programming PC games.

always has.

World wide sales on PC games beat worldwide console sales. it is only the AAA titles from major publishers that are outselling PC counterparts. There are more MMOs sales across all the MMOs available than even the best selling COD game. And that is just a portion of the PC market.

There are PC developers worldwide that are all making PC only titles for their respective countries or those near them, and they are all selling just fine. It is just EA/Activision/Ubisoft that get thier majority of sales from Consoles. But that is just a splash in the water of total PC sales.

I think this might be true but only if you include all those games like bejewled and such. However, PC gaming is not as expensive as it used to be. A well made $450 computer will be able to max out %90 of the games on the market.

yup. and in other parts of the world they don't even have consoles. the other parts that do (other than US, Canada & Japan) they're usually significantly more expensive.

Of Crysis 2 proves anything is that PCs are having a hard time. The xbox sold many more units and the PC still doesnt have DX11...

Dont over-react, its a headline, its intended to draw in attention.

And I'd say there is a war in a sense. PC gamers and console games are in a way competing for the time and attention of game developers. If Devs. were ore focus on PCs gaming rather than consoles, there would be a lot better PC games.
