I've hit a wall oc'ing my 955be

Thread Starter
So I have hit limit on my 955be, I can only seem to get to 3.8ghz. It bsods at anything above it no matter what voltage I set it to. I've read about pushing up the voltage of the northbridge & also changing it's frequency. So basically I would like to be given some advice on my options to get to 4ghz and above, and possibly up to around 4.2-4.3ghz.

Thanks in advance, the rig in question is my sig rig with 955be swapped in for the 555.

I have tried every voltage setting for the cpu itself up to 1.5 and it's a no go. As far as everything else I have manually set my ram timing even though it was right on auto just to be safe, I keep reading about messing with the nb but I am rather clueless as to how to do it safely. It does however seem to be a good chip I get it 3.8ghz on stock everything?

Temps are fine around 45c at idle when I'm at 3.8 at 4.2 the one time I got to check it was 51c. I left everything on auto except for disabling c1e and cool and quiet (couldn't find spread spectrum though). I set my ram timing manually and have the multi at 19 currently, and when it was at 4.2 is was at 20, and I didn't touch the bus speed because I seemed to get more unstable when I moved it up even the slightest.

What vcore are you using for 3.8Ghz?
Also set your HT to 2000Mhz changing that will make your oc unstable and give you no gains.

Just checked out your board and i dont think it has mosfet cooling and is only 4+1. If im right put it all back to stock for now till someone like xd_1771 gives you advice as you could blow something up.
