V7 Core16 4 clients 2 cards = ~more PPD

Yep just as with core11, a single 5870 can run 2 instances per gpu.

The first 2 clients maintain their ~2min 48sec tpf, the second 2 drop to ~7min 45sec.

It'll take awhile longer to see if there is any more tpf changes.
But as for now it's a 6k ppd increase.
So I still believe our cards are still not being fully utilized.

Give those other 2 a couple more percent done before you add up the PPD, the v7 client takes a lil while to be accurate. (or use the time from the log, that works too).

EDIT: also make sure you give each gpu its own core.

EDIT: nvm, i see you only have 2 gpu's haha ignore me.

It looks like 3 clients are running on 1 card, with the second card running the other.
I'll try something different after these are completed.

12k PPD on a sinlge card is pretty respectable, even if you have to run 2 clients / gpu. Whats that like... ~ a 460?

Hmm...so how do I go about setting this up? Does it require more CPU power as well?

I already dropped my SMP to -4 so my GPUs would run at full tilt. I suppose it would be worth the increase if I had to drop two more cores from my SMP unit.
