Just play with v-sync, like I said, are you going to be able to tell over 60FPS? Most likely not as most monitors right now are at 60Hz. It's impossible to see over it.

Looks like screen tearing to me, or something else related to that.

I always have VSync enabled, the tearing ruins my experience.

This isn't tearing though. Or maybe it is but just an EXTREME case of it. Has anyone else played Dead Space and had this problem? Probably not. My old 8800GT didn't do this.

Once again, fix it by putting v-sync on. What is going to hurt? Like I said, you won't see above it, so why does it matter?

Turn down the cards clock back to stock and see what happens.

a youtube video? eeeevil: youtube and several other video codec types are jamming my v7 folding right now. Locks me up harder than Cyanoacrylate with a chloride chaser.

Ok, windy post: DS(1) and BMAA are both ported to PC so you're running an emulation from the original game's graphics. This means that your system is not running them native but it is faking how the older graphics systems in the hexbawx run. You mentioned running an OC i5 with only a 500 watt range supply? Get some heft into it soon.

When sync is off your monitor will read the frame buffer before it is compiled, so its reading and displaying unfinished graphics frames before they're released from the card. nV cards are notorious for lying about actual frame rates and will actually go into a frenzy of frame driving to screen when you run with tearing. What you're seeing is only part of the many laminated layers that modern graphics cards stack together mathematically to produce the finished frame.
Keep in mind that there are multiple frame buffers in the card and when it is reading to display a frame it cannot write to that frame from the GPU side. Since both games use the same emulation bridge it can be expected that they'll both have the same response to settings.

Looks like what you're seeing is a noise map. "noise" maps are used to simulate reflections on surfaces when you rotate them or turn the camera past an object. These noise maps are usually unchanging and can be applied to the buffer first then the rest of the textures laid on top. It is entirely probable that the tune of your system is at fault. (not had such display problems on 4870/6970)

Seriously tho, get a bigger supply.
What's the make of your monitor and are you running it off a DVI, HDMI or VGA connector?

This^^^

Back down the clocks and do another video, i can get artifacts in kombustor if i run clocks to high but it wont crash it just keeps going.

I can get artifacting in games if i run clocks too high, the game wont crash but i will get artifacts.

Remove any overclock and then lets see.

BTW i agree, thats not tearing its more of a flashing which is why i say artifacting.

Just tried the following with no positive results:

- Using HDMI cable.
- Reducing card to stock clocks and adding a tad more voltage.
