I thought Nvidia Core Calibration was for unlocking cores?

I'm not really sure what its for (OC noob) but it allows you to adjust different voltage levels for each core... But it has done nothing to affect my Boards horrendous Vdroop.

Yeah, the vdroop is making the idea of attaining 4GHz just a dream, which is a shame because I have seen users with M4N98TD's achieve the 4gigs, but I guess I would have to get fancy with water-cooling in order to set the voltage any higher...

I'm stable at 3.8, I could push it to 3.9 but I like my temps where they're at right now...

Just got a new job for the summer, so it's possible that next time I post on this forum I'll have dual GTX 480s

Anyway, I sincerely appreciate all the help you guys have given me, i thought I knew a decent amount about overclocking, but this thread has vastly improved my education!

If anyone finds out anything more about how to correct the vdroop on this board please post to this thread as I will be monitoring from time to time and updating my progress if I get the enthusiasm to try again some day...

Pushed the 965 as well as NB a bit further - lowered the multiplier and increased reference clock

So close to 4GHz I can taste it, but my cpu core temp is estimated at 56c under load... I have heard that 55c is the safest for Phenoms...

On a side note: my memory is now OCed to 1900MHz (as opposed to the stock 1600), but i had to change the latency from 7-8-7-24 to 9-9-9-24...

How important is latency with regards to the actual speed of your memory?
(would it be more beneficial for me to just lower the OC speed to stock and enjoy the low latency?)

Nice

You can drop the ram back to 1333 7-8-7-24 and with your present ref clock it will be just shy of 1600, giving you more room to increase the ref clock to get to 4.0 and still have lots of oc left in the ram.

AMD's typically perform better with lower frequency (Mhz) and tighter timings. 1600 CL6 or CL7 might be a better bet.

And you can safely go to 62c (or higher) so long as you're stable.
