i5 2500k Freezing in games? - Page 3

Ok bro, the real problem here is probalby that you dont have enough voltage going through your cpu.

Mine draws 1.392 during prime 95 at 4.5. Any less and Im not stable. Raise vcore bro.

try running your CPU at stock and see if you can get it to freeze. If you can still get it to freeze, the problem probably isn't your CPU. Your CPU voltage is probably ok. Of course, each chip will be different, but pretty much all 2500k's that I've seen seem to run fine at that clock with that voltage.

Mine's running at 4.5 Ghz with about 1.33v under load.

are your graphics cards overclocked/bios flashed at all?

No both my GPUs are at stock. I did unlock one but when I went crossfire I put it back to stock. The 124 code is vcore or qpi voltage. It just sux that I have to again raise a voltage.

Balla Im going to try your method right now. I dont want to have to raise it little by little and each time run prime for 12 hours so what would you recommend to see if its stable and to move onto the next freq. raise?

QPi voltage is now VCCIO, and Im pretty sure it isnt that.

Mine draws 1.392 at 4.5 during prime 95. Try that voltage.

That is stable voltage. Stable as in havent had blue screen in 2 months stable and computer hasnt been shut off once.

Did you get the code when you started overclocking it all? What did you do then, just increase vcore? What is your VTT/QPI at? What are the rest of your setting like?

VCCIO is 1.05 stock. From what Ive heard the only way this needs to be raised is if your are running 8 gb at 1866 or higher speeds.

Maybe you should read what I type, cause as I said twice now, and Im right btw, QPI/VTT is now VCCIO and ITS NOT THE PROBLEM.

Are you using ram that is over 1.5v? you could be cooking the memory controller. Maybe downvolt to 1.5v if you are and loosen memory timings and or run at lower speed.

I hear you man chill. Most sandy chips do 4.5 at less than 1.33v so im not saying your wrong Im just making damn sure. You can understand that right? Just want to go through all the checks and balances before I commit to raising more vcore. thats all. Your help is much appreciated.
